How to get to the Leganes Campus on Public Transport.

The Higher Polytechnic School of the Carlos III University of Madrid is located in South Madrid. From the Centre of Madrid, you can take either the train or bus.

From the Barajas Airport to Downtown Madrid

The Barajas Airport is about 15 Km. from Downtown Madrid. In addition to the taxi service, there are bus and metro lines which go to the Plaza de Colon (city centre), and a metro line to Nuevos Ministerios, which has a connection to the Cercanias/RENFE train line to Leganes.

metro
By Metro: It is the best alternative for Public Transport. The price of a metro ticket is €1.
The Madrid Metro system has a stop at the Madrid-Barajas Airport called "Aeropuerto", and it is on line number 8. To reach the city centre, take line 8 direction "Nuevos Ministerios". Once there, you will take the Cercanias/RENFE train. For more information about the Madrid Metro, see map.

Bus
By Bus: The buses leave directly from the airport and take you to the Plaza de Colon.
The fare is €1.15. From "Plaza de Colon" to "Atocha" take one of the city buses, either the 27 or the 24 to "Atocha". Once there, take Cercanias/RENFE train.

taxi
By Taxi: Taxi fare is made up of various separate charges. The basic rate depends on the number of kilometres travelled, the time, the day of the week and the supplementary charges.
There is an airport surcharge of €4.00, and if you are carrying more than two pieces of luggage, there is a charge of €1.50 for each bag. The total fare from the airport to the Leganes Campus will be approximately €40.00.
