Other information of interest

Wi-Fi connection

The entire area used for DC-2005, the rooms in the Padre Soler building and the Torres Quevedo, hallways, etc. are covered by a Wi-Fi network. The connection is free, and participants will be informed on registration how they can freely connect, although use is of course bound by the security and usage restrictions of the University Carlos III.

Basic connection to the WiFi net includes Web access, i.e. Internet browsing. This service is available wherever the computer detects the WiFi-UC3M wireless network. If you want to use secure Web (https) it will be necessary to modify the proxy configuration in your Browser. The configuration data are:
Proxy server: proxy-u2.uc3m.es
Port: 80

If you need more network capabilities, ask to DC-2005 staff at conference desk (Auditorium Hall). To get full connection it is necessary to set up a coded Virtual Private Network based on L2TP/IPSec clients between the computer to be connected and the University network. Thus, the integrity and confidence of communications can be guaranteed.
